Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Saint Petersburg, FL, seeks a Procurement Senior Specialist to negotiate terms, prepare requisitions and purchase orders for goods, services and supplies across customer programs and internal operations. Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, pre-qualifying suppliers, issuing RFPs/RFQs, evaluating bids and contracting with suppliers.

You will also oversee buying activities to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes sourcing strategy and negotiates contracts for assigned categories.
• Gathers business requirements and pre-qualifies potential suppliers.
• Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and collects bids.
• Evaluates proposals based on quality and cost; selects suppliers meeting requirements.
• Works with suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contracts.
• Oversees purchasing operations, e.g., purchase orders and invoice payments.
• Ensures procurement complies with internal policies and external regulations.
• Travel up to 25%.
