Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst to support sourcing across categories, execute RFx processes, analyze data, and generate spend reports to guide procurement decisions.

You will partner with category managers to drive cost savings, perform market research, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 5% is required; relocation package available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years in sourcing or procurement.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel/Power BI).
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Analytical and interpersonal skills to resolve sourcing challenges.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Collects technical and commercial specifications, benchmarks suppliers, and supports RFx.
• Inform current suppliers about bids and manage RFx participation.
• Draft RFx requirements, define SOW, and complete cost/decision documents.
• Analyze post-bid data and provide recommendations; arrange demonstrations.
• Create spend reports by sourcing category for senior leadership.
• Provide monthly/weekly market cost reports for specific categories.
• Validate quarterly rebates via SAP data.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking to identify best-in-class processes.
