Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a creative, curious, and detail-oriented Social Media Strategist to help develop and execute social media programs for clients across higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, public affairs, and corporate sectors. This is a hands‑on role focused on content development, community engagement, creator support, reporting, and day-to-day execution across social channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, PR, Advertising, or related field.
• 2-3 years of professional social media experience; agency experience is a plus.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Working knowledge of social media analytics, scheduling, and reporting tools.
• Understanding of organic and paid social media fundamentals.
• Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of social media strategies aligned with client business and communications objectives.
• Contribute to annual, quarterly, and campaign-specific social media plans.
• Research audience behaviors, platform trends, content themes, and engagement opportunities.
• Stay current on platform updates, emerging formats, creator trends, and social media best practices.
• Build and maintain editorial calendars across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit).
• Write, edit, schedule, and publish compelling social content tailored to each platform and audience.
• Collaborate with designers, videographers, and other content creators to develop engaging social assets.
• Assist with executive thought leadership and brand storytelling content.
