Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in group health insurance or with a benefits brokerage/consulting firm.
• Active CA Life & Disability license is required.
• Adaptable, self-starter, with experienced decision-making skills.
• Effective written and oral communication and collaboration skills.
• Problem solving, analytical, and marketing skills required.
• Organized and able to manage time effectively.
• Proficient with MS Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Professional demeanor and behavior; embody Heffernan Habits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain group benefits insurance strategies.
• Manage an assigned book of business, primarily for clients with <50 lives.
• Market and manage assigned clients.
• Coordinate renewal marketing process with clients and provide program structure, review, and analysis.
• Provide technical competence in coverage areas and current markets.
• Conduct or participate in virtual open enrollment meetings, health fairs, and webinars.
• Audit client information, premiums, and commissions in EPIC HIB.
• Educate and clarify coverage forms for clients.
• Assist with distributing marketing results, including benefit comparisons.
• Maintain Benefits Administration systems for assigned accounts.
• Assist with group applications and policy termination notices.
• Thoroughly document each account and follow proper E&O procedures.
• Handle complex accounts.
• Perform other assigned duties and special projects.
• Report to the Benefits Manager.
