Job summary

Benjamin Moore is hiring a Financial Planning Analyst – SG&A to gain broad experience in cost center planning, forecasting, and monthly close processes. You will support unbiased financial reporting, gather data from multiple resources, and provide actionable recommendations to meet financial goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cost center owners and senior management, with a focus on variance analysis, ad-hoc analysis, and adherence to corporate guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Preferred 2+ years of experience in accounting and financial analysis, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Must be analytical with strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, financial modeling, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; able to quickly learn new tools.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills for effective business partnering.
• Ability to work in a team-based continuous improvement environment.
• Knowledge of SAP, EPM, SAC, and Business Objects preferred.
• Minimal travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support to various SG&A functional groups.
• Assist with annual operating cost center plans and rolling forecast with input from senior management.
• Support monthly financial analyses, identify key variances, and flag risks/opportunities.
• Facilitate monthly financial reviews with senior management comparing actuals to plan and forecast.
• Support month-end close with accruals, reclasses, prepayments, amortization, fixed assets alignment, and YoY SG&A analyses.
• Review contracts/SOWs for financial impact and proper spend classification (capex vs. opex).
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses upon request.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and corporate guidelines.
• Assist Planning Team with ad-hoc projects.
