Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex projects in the Tidewater area. The role emphasizes GMP budgeting, risk management, and client relations while guiding project teams to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The candidate will oversee multiple projects, mentor staff, and contribute to business development and community relations, aligning with the company’s Zero Harm culture.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred and 10+ years of experience.
• Demonstrates leadership skills with ability to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others.
• Supervises and develops direct reports while prioritizing and delegating responsibilities.
• Manages essential functions effectively by driving for quality, profitable, safe, and timely results.
• Demonstrates solid presentation and verbal/written skills.
• Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Creates and manages the project budget and GMP development.
• Knows owner’s contract requirements, bonds, fees, schedules, reporting, and costs.
• Develops monthly Projected Final Cost (PFR) and Labor Cost Reports (LCR) projections.
• Creates Project Incentive Compensation Plan within 30 days of GMP.
• Collaborates with Preconstruction to monitor budget reports and costs.
• Manages subcontracting from scope review to final execution.
• Develops MBE requirements plan and reports on progress as needed.
• Develops Mission Alignment Plan with the client.
• Creates construction schedule with scheduling team and resources.
• Reviews contract documents to ensure on-time, on-budget work.
• Coordinates subcontractors and suppliers to meet schedules.
• Maintains project administration: schedule, milestones, close-out checklist.
• Promotes safety and Zero Harm culture on site and with assets.
• Builds relationships with customers, design teams, and suppliers.
• Supports staff development and professional growth.
