Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products in Radford, VA seeks a Senior Buyer to drive spares purchasing for our Radford facilities. You will identify, onboard, and manage global suppliers while collaborating with design and engineering on cost reductions and design changes.

You will lead RFQ processes, analyze bids, and negotiate terms to strengthen supplier relationships and margins. Cross-functional teamwork and ERP analytics are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience developing RFQs/RFPs, contracts, and performing financial analyses.
• Ability to read schematics and component drawings.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and ERP data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage RFQ/RFP process and supplier bids.
• Analyze bids and negotiate favorable terms.
• Develop suppliers approved for quote with program teams.
• Collaborate with commodity managers and tactical buyers.
• Monitor markets, manage price changes, and mitigate risks.
• Close out orders promptly and track supplier performance.
• Maintain safe work environment and ensure compliance.
