Job summary

HRU Technical Resources is seeking a Senior Buyer to support Spares purchasing for Radford Facilities. The role emphasizes supplier onboarding, RFQ execution, and cost optimization to meet program goals.

You will analyze supplier bids, drive strategic sourcing initiatives, and collaborate with design and component engineering on quality improvements, cost reductions, and timely delivery. Strong ERP and Excel skills are essential to manage data and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience purchasing multiple commodities.
Ability to read schematics and component drawings.
Proficiency with ERP data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and onboard global suppliers while achieving targets.
Build and strengthen strategic supplier relationships to support ongoing needs.
Collaborate with design and component engineering on quality improvements and cost reductions.
Lead and execute long-term strategic projects and supplier agreements.
Drive RFQ/RFP processes, analyze bids, and make sourcing decisions.
Develop approved-for-quote suppliers with program and category teams.
Monitor market trends and mitigate supply risks.
Identify innovative technologies to improve margins and service delivery.
Perform cost/price analyses and ensure compliance documentation.
Apply continuous improvement to internal processes to close orders promptly.
