Job summary

Patrick Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer in Elk River, MN to procure materials and manage supplier relationships in support of production.

You will negotiate terms, place orders, monitor inventories, and drive continuous improvement across procurement processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in a relevant field with 5+ years in purchasing or supply chain, ERP/MRP experience (Epicor preferred), Lean/Six Sigma, APICS is a plus, and strong

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 5+ years in purchasing, materials management, or supply chain.
• Experience leading change and projects internally and externally.
• ERP/MRP experience; Epicor a plus.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma desired.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• APICS certification strongly desired.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work across levels.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials and equipment in support of production and internal operations.
• Negotiate price, terms, and conditions; obtain quotes, place and expedite orders.
• Manage material flow and inventory levels to ensure smooth production.
• Communicate specifications and design changes to suppliers.
• Maintain and update costs in the system for reporting.
• Assess supplier capabilities via site visits.
• Monitor supplier performance and report results.
• Follow up on corrective actions related to performance.
• Communicate non-conforming materials to/from suppliers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align procurement strategies.
• Provide leadership to assigned team; oversee day-to-day activities and development.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new processes and tools.
• Identify supply sources for new materials and secure purchases.
