Job summary

Burnett Specialists Staffing | Recruiting is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead month-end close and ensure accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.

You will manage journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, while supporting revenue recognition, WIP, and gross margin analysis. The role requires 5+ years in accounting in project-based environments, strong Excel skills, and multi-state tax compliance experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in month-end close, GL accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience in project-based environments (distribution, manufacturing, construction).
• Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-state sales tax compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Maintain balance sheet and prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support monthly financial statement preparation and management reporting, including income statement and balance sheet variance analysis.
• Support revenue recognition, WIP, project accruals, cost allocation, and gross margin analysis.
• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations, valuation, adjustments, reserves, and analysis of slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
• Manage sales and use tax compliance.
• Support payroll accounting activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
