Southern Company is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Category Manager to support the Generation Business Unit from Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on category management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations within an asset-intensive energy environment.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, drive process improvements, and deliver measurable value through cost optimization and risk mitigation. A strong background in procurement and supplier performance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant technical discipline or business.
• Education or experience in contracts is a plus.
• Experience in category management and sourcing is required.
• Experience with contract negotiation and supplier management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes category plans to drive cost savings and efficiency.
• Manages categories with significant annual spend and supplier relations.
• Leads negotiations and oversees strategic procurement stages.
• Analyzes spend, forecasts demand, and builds cost models and TCO.
• Partners with Business Unit clients to track supplier performance.
