Job summary

Matteson School District 162 seeks a qualified Chief Financial Officer/CSBO to lead the financial and business operations for the district and Southland College Prep Charter High School. You will oversee budgeting, reporting, audits, tax matters and long-range planning, while guiding staff and boards.

The role requires GASB and FASB expertise, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach with the Superintendent and CEO.

Qualifications

The position requires a degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field with strong financial statement and general ledger knowledge.
Experience in school districts, charter schools, nonprofits or complex organizations is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to explain financial issues to nonfinancial colleagues and governing boards.
Proficiency with accounting standards GASB and FASB and related reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow planning and financial reporting for District 162 and Southland.
Oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable with staff and managers.
Direct purchasing, contracts, bidding, procurement and asset inventory.
Coordinate audits, state/federal reporting and corrective actions.
Support HR matters, benefits administration and labor negotiations.
