Job summary

State of Missouri, Missouri School for the Blind (MSB) in St. Louis, MO, seeks a senior financial administrator to coordinate MSB’s procurement, payments and budget activities. The role supports the Superintendent with budgeting and ensures compliance with DESE regulations across multiple departments.

The position oversees vendor bidding, inventory control, and district billing procedures, with leadership of business office staff and related programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field.
• Three years’ supervisory level experience in accounting, business management or school business administration.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all business functions for MSB with DESE Accounting and Procurement Section.
• Provide administrative direction for purchasing and payment activities in accordance with regulations.
• Compile fiscal data and develop reports on budget expenditures and balances.
• Assist the Superintendent with annual budget preparation and management.
• Manage student and activity fund expenditures for DESE compliance.
• Coordinate bidding of contracts for MSB and related services.
• Liaise with Administration and Facilities on budget expenditures and alterations.
• Oversee inventory management and surplusing of equipment.
• Direct and supervise business office staff, food service, transportation, therapy and custodial programs.
• Disseminate fiscal information related to FTE and personnel budget.
• Generate travel guidelines and monitor expense reports and DESE credit card usage.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field
