Job summary

Capital One is seeking a highly motivated Risk Manager to apply risk, communication, analytical, and project management skills in support of our mission. Through this work they will gain a broad, general understanding of how Capital One manages risk.

Responsibilities include partnering with Risk Advisors and data teams, supporting audits, and driving process improvements. The role emphasizes clear recommendations and cross-functional influence across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in risk management, audit, or quality assurance programs.
• At least 3 years of experience with querying, analyzing and working with data and scripting languages such as Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
• At least 2 years of experience working with process and project management and improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner collaboratively with our Risk Advisors and business areas, risk data management team, and other risk management partners, and business risk offices
• Support internal audits and exams as needed
• Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis
• Demonstrate effective communication and influence across multiple functional areas and levels of the organization, fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations to ensure our process and controls are executing as intended.
• Solving problems and engaging in critical thinking to continuously improve our risk practices.
