Job summary

The City of East Point seeks a Risk Manager to lead the city’s risk management initiatives under the Director of Human Resources. You will oversee workers’ compensation, liability programs, and loss-control activities, coordinating with attorneys and third parties as needed.

Applicants should have direct risk management experience (not solely HR). Five years of progressive experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on analytics, training, and policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR/related field; master's preferred.
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR and/or risk management experience.
• Proficient with MS Office and ad hoc reporting.
• Ability to manage high-volume workload with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop and administer risk management programs for the City.
• Oversee claims processing, maintain claims data and analyze trends.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation and liability programs; lead safety initiatives.
• Chair safety committee meetings and manage audits and investigations.
• Develop training on risk management and HR topics; advise on policies.
• Provide backup to HR staff and assist with HR manuals and projects.
• Analyze data to identify risks and define action plans with timelines.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and city policies.
