Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Specialist, Risk Management to apply robust risk practices in a collaborative, agile environment. You will help balance risk and reward to meet growth and capital objectives as part of our risk-management team.

Ideal candidates will have a finance-related undergraduate degree, 3+ years in insurance/financial services, and strong analytical and communication skills. CPA/CFA preferred; role involves office-based work in Columbus, OH.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics or related subject area required.
• Progress toward CPA, CFA or similar preferred.
• Typically, three or more years of related work experience in insurance and/or the financial services industry.
• Basic analytical skills to build solutions for risk management problems.
• Proven understanding of ERM processes and risk governance.

Responsibilities

• Supports risk taking philosophies, data governance, and risk reporting.
• Assists in stress testing, scenario analysis, and measurement of enterprise risks.
• Link risk management to business unit goals and risk-adjusted returns.
• Identify, assess, and report financial, operational, and strategic risks to Nationwide.
• Maintain governance, risk, and controls software applications.
