Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Principal Associate in Risk Management - Horizontal Audit & Exam Advisory in Plano, TX. The role focuses on providing risk judgment, developing innovative solutions, and implementing risk strategies in collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

You will act as a strategic advisor during FS audit and exam engagements, analyze regulatory impacts, and drive data-informed decision making to improve risk practices and customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in project, process, program, or risk management.
• Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree, MBA, or Juris Doctorate.
• 1+ years of experience presenting to executive leadership.
• 3+ years of experience in project, process, program, or risk management.
• 2+ years of exposure to audit & exam engagements.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile.
• Act as a key strategic advisor to business partners during FS audit & exam engagements.
• Identify and assess the impact of the changing regulatory environment on business objectives and risk appetite.
• Analyze data to identify risks and trends and provide insights for decision making.
• Drive collaboration between Risk, Audit, Reg. Relations, Compliance, Legal, and other functions.
• Escalate risk management gaps to executive management and, when appropriate, to the Board of Directors.
