Michaels is seeking a seasoned Buyer to manage day-to-day merchandising for assigned categories at the Irving location. You will align assortment with category goals, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and drive profitability while meeting customer expectations.

The role requires 6+ years in merchandising and strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills to deliver financial plans and optimize promotions and pricing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of merchandising experience in retail.
• Proven Retail Buyer or similar role leadership.
• Ability to lead a category team and drive results.
• Strong strategic and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational skills and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the overall category strategy for assigned pod.
• Provide data and insights on market performance to drive decisions.
• Negotiate prices and terms with national brand suppliers.
• Coordinate with sourcing, planning, allocation, and marketing teams.
• Lead and mentor a small team of contributors.
• Monitor financial plans and deliver on sales and GM targets.
• Optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
