The University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine invites applications for the Research Project Manager C. This role provides strategic leadership and comprehensive management of complex, multidisciplinary research programs involving internal and external collaborators.

You will guide research planning, grant development, compliance, and execution from development through dissemination and sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in science, engineering, biomedical sciences, management, or related field with 5–7 years of PM experience.
  • Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary research programs with collaborators.
  • Experience contributing to grant applications, research proposals, reports, or publications.
  • Strong understanding of biomedical research methodologies, experimental design, data analysis, and operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Experience developing operational procedures and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with investigators and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for complex research programs involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Partner with the principal investigator to define research objectives, develop strategies, timelines, and allocate resources.
  • Manage day-to-day research activities, including prioritization, workflow coordination, and process improvement.
  • Develop and oversee research management systems, SOPs, documentation, and data management.
  • Coordinate collaborations with internal and external investigators, clinical partners, and vendors.
  • Contribute scientific expertise to grant proposals and reporting.
  • Support post-award grant management, including progress reporting and sponsor requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret research data and prepare scientific communications.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, personnel coordination, procurement, and vendor relations.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, sponsor, and regulatory requirements.
