Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Associate Chair of Research (ACR) in the Department of Medicine at Dell Medical School. The ACR will lead the full spectrum of research activities, shaping strategy, execution, and value across Dell Med’s research portfolio.

Responsibilities include representing the department in all research matters, guiding grant administration, and ensuring ethical standards and compliance while fostering cross‑institutional collaboration to advance health

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree; board certified.
• Strong track record of research productivity with NIH (or comparable) funding.
• Experience mentoring junior faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Academic rank commensurate to experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent the department and Chair in all research matters.
• Coordinate with the Office of the Vice Dean for Research to inform guidelines, policies, and strategic directions.
• Promote high-impact research to improve health and healthcare throughout Central Texas.
• Develop and execute Dell Med's research strategy with other ACRs.
• Oversee research benchmarks, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
