Job summary

Ryan Specialty, LLC seeks an Executive Reinsurance Underwriter to provide strategic direction for high-level underwriting decisions, shaping complex terms and pricing for our reinsurance portfolio.

You will lead negotiations, drive growth, and align practices with regulatory standards while coaching the underwriting team and collaborating with senior management on long-term portfolio strategy.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Reinsurance Underwriting with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8 years and a Master’s degree.
• State P&C and/or surplus line licenses required.
• Associate in Reinsurance (ARE) or ARM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivers profitable growth through strategic risk selection and pricing for reinsurance.
• Makes high-level underwriting decisions for complex coverage terms and pricing strategies.
• Ensures regulatory compliance across the reinsurance portfolio.
• Partners with senior management to set objectives and manage budgets.
• Reviews proposals and conducts due diligence on cedents’ underwriting practices.
• Underwrites policy renewals considering risk factors and market conditions.
• Drives innovation in underwriting practices and technology adoption.
