Job summary

Markel Corporation is seeking a Reinsurance Analyst/Senior Analyst to oversee ceded reinsurance placements across product lines, working with underwriting leadership to align strategies and ensure timely renewals.

You will build reinsurer relationships, coordinate audits, and support data validation and treaty implementation while staying current on contract wording and market practices. This role requires 3–5 years of insurance experience and a bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Analytical knowledge of insurance, reinsurance accounting, and actuarial concepts.
• 3–5 years in insurance/reinsurance or broking preferred.
• 5+ years of reinsurance contract wording experience preferred at senior analyst level.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with ceded reinsurance placements across product lines, including structuring, placement, and administration.
• Partner with underwriting leadership to align reinsurance strategies with product offerings.
• Build and maintain relationships with reinsurers and brokers.
• Manage placement timelines and ensure timely, well-communicated renewals.
• Prepare submissions, including product overviews, contract wording, and data requirements.
