Job summary

Stanford University’s School of Medicine is seeking an experienced Registrar to provide strategic leadership for the Registrar’s Office. The Registrar administers student academic records, registration, enrollment, and related services to support the School’s educational mission and diverse programs.

Reporting to the Director for Education Data Systems and Student Experience, the role collaborates across the School and University to translate priorities into effective registrar services,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
• User knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of management.
• Strong analytical skills to review complex financial information.
• Strong leadership and strategic management abilities.
• Demonstrated experience managing people.
• Ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the work of managers and other employees to implement the unit's strategic goals, including hiring, coaching, and staffing.
• Identify and resolve complex, university-wide issues with broad impact.
• Provide strategic direction and manage a major area of student services programs.
• Develop, analyze, and oversee programs and tools for student services.
• Review policy exceptions and settle grievances; recommend changes.
• May advise the dean on programmatic and policy development.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with policies; direct process improvement.
• Lead university-wide initiatives and long-range planning.
• Represent programs at senior meetings and external audiences.
• Evaluate technology needs and effectiveness for student programs.
