Job summary

SSC Services for Education, part of Compass Group, seeks a Regional Director of Operations to lead Texas A&M University System campuses with a focus on safe, reliable facilities services and strong client partnerships.

You will drive financial performance, develop regional leaders, and ensure KPI and SLA adherence while guiding continuous improvement across a complex portfolio in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
• 8+ years of progressive facilities management or operations leadership experience, including responsibility for complex, multi-site or multi-campus environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading facilities operations such as building maintenance, engineering, custodial/environmental services, grounds, utilities, or related support services.
• Proven success leading and developing manager- and director-level teams across geographically dispersed operations.
• Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing P&Ls, budgets, forecasts, contracts, and operational performance.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and translate client priorities into executable operational strategies.
• Experience managing contractual performance, KPIs/SLAs, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Higher education, large campus, institutional, or similarly complex facilities environment experience strongly preferred.
• Strong executive communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout Texas to support assigned campuses.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across a multi-campus facilities portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality services.
• Build trusted relationships with campus stakeholders and serve as a senior point of contact for operational performance, service strategy, escalations, and evolving campus needs.
• Lead, coach, and develop site and regional leaders, establishing clear expectations and building a strong pipeline of facilities management talent.
• Drive operational excellence through performance metrics, service standards, preventive maintenance strategies, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
• Own regional financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labor and expense management, and identification of opportunities to improve efficiency and value.
• Ensure successful execution of contractual requirements, scopes of work, KPIs, SLAs, and client commitments across assigned locations.
• Partner across SSC and Compass support functions to align resources, implement strategic initiatives, and solve complex operational challenges.
• Support account retention, expansion, and business growth by identifying opportunities to enhance services and deliver additional value to the client.
• Champion a strong culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and operational readiness across all facilities operations.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the portfolio, traveling regularly between College Station and network campuses to engage teams, assess performance, and strengthen client relationships.
