Job summary

Pima County’s Real Property Services Department is seeking a Real Property Acquisition Agent II to help shape projects serving the community. The role covers acquisition, sale, and management of property and real property rights for county and special districts.

You will conduct owner negotiations, prepare conveyance instruments, review plans, and ensure compliance with planning, development, and environmental requirements, while coordinating disposals and payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to business, real estate, planning or public administration.
• One year of experience conducting the sale or transfer of real property or relocation of persons/businesses displaced by government programs or projects.

Responsibilities

• Contacts and negotiates with property owners or representatives for acquisitions and related conveyance.
• Prepares legal instruments for conveyance of real property and rights.
• Coordinates disposal of surplus County lands and properties.
• Manages County-acquired properties including rental and occupancy arrangements.
• Identifies acquisition or disposal opportunities for County properties.
• Calculates relocation payments and assists property owners through relocation.
• Ensures acquisitions comply with planning, development requirements and environmental considerations.
• Reviews plans and plats to determine property needs for development.
• Renegotiates terms after plan changes or contingencies.
• Reviews consultant analyses and ensures contract compliance.
• Provides guidance to County agencies on property acquisition and relocation requirements.
• Documents all activities and maintains records and reports.
• Leads project research, planning and design phases.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, planning, urban planning or related field
