Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a senior counsel to support real estate, land management, and infrastructure programs, including spaceport development in Louisiana. The role involves drafting and negotiating leases, easements, and related transactions, plus leading diligence across site development.

The ideal candidate will have a JD with admission to the Louisiana bar and 8+ years of experience in complex commercial transactions involving real estate, energy, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• JD or foreign equivalent from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar admission in good standing in Louisiana.
• 8+ years of experience supporting complex commercial transactions including real estate, land management, infrastructure, energy, or capital equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal work for Louisiana land position and real estate holdings, including leases, rights-of-way, and surface-use arrangements.
• Draft and negotiate real estate and land-use documents (purchases, sales, leases, easements, rights-of-way).
• Lead diligence for site development and infrastructure planning across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Provide legal guidance on infrastructure development for SpaceX spaceport and production sites in Louisiana and beyond.
• Support utility and energy infrastructure projects including power, water, and interconnection.
• Advise internal stakeholders in briefings with officials and regulators; manage external relationships.
