Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Lead/Director Real Estate Economist to join our Infrastructure and Grants Advisory team in Washington, DC.

You will lead complex real estate and economic development projects, guide multidisciplinary teams, and advise senior clients on feasibility, zoning, and policy considerations. The role requires 15–20 years in real estate economics or related consulting, strong analytical and client-facing skills, and the ability to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in economics, statistics, business, urban planning, real estate development, or related field.
• 15-20 years of professional experience in real estate economics, land use planning, economic development, or related consulting fields.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex real estate or economic development projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client-facing experience and ability to advise senior decision makers.
• Advanced analytical skills including financial modeling, market analysis, impact fee studies, and economic impact evaluation.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear, decision-oriented narratives and board-ready deliverables.
• Advanced spreadsheet and data management skills (MS Excel) and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex real estate and economic development projects and management of multidisciplinary teams.
• Advise clients on development feasibility, zoning, regulatory frameworks, and policy considerations.
• Conduct and oversee financial analyses including pro forma modeling and investment strategy evaluation.
• Lead market research, demand analysis, and business case development for TOD and infrastructure projects.
• Develop PPP strategies and innovative funding approaches for real estate and infrastructure investments.
• Prepare and present reports, presentations, and executive briefings to senior stakeholders and clients.
• Lead economic analyses including benefit-cost analyses, socioeconomic assessments, and traffic and revenue forecasts.
• Support business development, including proposal writing and client engagement.
• Mentor junior staff and foster collaboration across teams.
• Represent STV through thought leadership and industry engagement.
