Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. – J.P. Morgan Asset Management – Real Estate Americas is seeking an Associate to join the Debt Investment Team in Los Angeles. You will identify and underwrite lending opportunities across property types, develop strategies, review market research, and participate in investment committee presentations.

You will build complex financial models, analyze capital stacks, and collaborate with brokers, borrowers, and internal teams to manage risk and support deal execution.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of real estate work experience.
• Excellent Excel and Argus modeling skills.
• Knowledge of real estate cash flow and valuation analysis.
• Experience with deal management and risk mitigation.
• Ability to multi-task across multiple deals with originators.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite potential lending opportunities for various funds and investment vehicles.
• Analyze investments across capital stack, from senior loans to mezzanine.
• Create detailed financial underwriting models for real estate financing.
• Assist with modifications and loan restructurings as needed.
• Perform property and market research with brokers, sponsors, and teams.
• Assist in execution of deals from underwriting through closing.
• Conduct site inspections.
• Prepare memos, due diligence, site inspections, and closing documentation.
• Communicate investment recommendations with senior leaders and the investment committee.
• Collaborate with Asset Management, Valuations, Finance, and other stakeholders.
• Provide support for ongoing asset management of existing investments.
