GGP in Chicago seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide proactive legal counsel on real estate and corporate matters. The role supports internal clients and works on sophisticated transactional work within a collaborative team.

The position requires a J.D. from a top law school, US bar admission, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Extensive real estate experience and strong client management are essential.

Formación

• J.D. from a leading law school.
• Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction.
• At least 5 years of relevant corporate/contracts/litigation experience; large firm preferred.
• Experience with joint ventures, IT, design/construction, energy, procurement or REITs is a plus.
• Excellent client management, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Responsabilidades

• Negotiate, draft, and review real estate documents – including leases and related agreements – ensuring clarity and favorable terms.
• Prepare and evaluate ancillary real estate agreements and title reports.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal implications of proposed transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure all agreements comply with corporate approvals and governance.
• Review existing leases and REAs to support development and redevelopment plans.
• Collaborate with tenants and cross-functional teams to deliver practical legal guidance.
