Job summary

The Alliance Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Real Estate Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for a diverse commercial real estate portfolio. The role emphasizes hands-on lease accounting, reconciliations, and reliable financial reporting.

You will manage month-end close, prepare financial statements, and collaborate with property management, leasing, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting. Strong ASC 842 knowledge and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including commercial real estate accounting
• Lease accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of ASC 842, CAM reconciliations, and commercial lease structures
• Experience managing accounting for multiple properties or a real estate portfolio
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Proficiency in Excel and real estate accounting software such as Yardi or MRI preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.
• Manage lease accounting activities, including lease administration, rent schedules, and ASC 842 compliance.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee CAM reconciliations, operating expense allocations, and tenant billings.
• Review lease agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment of rent escalations, abatements, and other lease provisions.
• Manage month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Partner with property management, leasing, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
