Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands seeks an Inventory Management Planner to join the procurement team in Dallas, TX. You will apply MRP and lean methods to maintain optimal raw material inventories and support manufacturing schedules.

You will manage POs, analyze delivery issues, coordinate inter-facility transfers, and work with various departments to drive safety, quality, and cost improvements. A 4-year degree and 5 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4 year degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience
• 5 years’ experience in purchasing or equivalent supply chain/inventory management
• Solid understanding of information systems that support supply chain and manufacturing operations (Oracle system preferred)
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and databases
• Experience using lean tools: 5S, 5 Why, A3 thinking, pull/kanban, kaizen

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal raw material inventory levels using MRP and lean tools
• Place, manage, and enter purchase orders and communicate PO status with suppliers
• Perform root cause analysis on delivery failures
• Coordinate inventory transfers between facilities and customer expediting
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to meet safety, quality, service, cost goals
• Collaborate with teams across functions (Customer Experience, Operations Planning, Finance, Engineering, IT, R&D, Logistics)
• Define problems, collect/analyze data, propose solutions and implement improvements
• Develop processes for new product offerings and ramp-up/down plans
• Promote safety and maintain a safe, respectful work environment
