Job summary

Abbott in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Project Manager PPMO - R&D to drive cross-functional program delivery from concept to market. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in project management.
• PMP certification desirable.
• 4-5 years’ experience in project leadership roles.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams by driving stakeholder alignment, facilitating informed decision-making, framing risks and tradeoffs, and guiding teams through ambiguity to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Plan projects by establishing timelines & budgets. Identify opportunities to improve project planning and forecast accuracy.
• Lead cross-functional teams through complex and evolving challenges while providing structure, clarity, and direction.
• Coach/guide/lead other PMs to elevate their level of performance in the above areas.
• This position will work with limited supervision; is accountable for all project deliverables.
• Drive decision readiness by identifying critical decision points, synthesizing complex information, framing alternatives, and ensuring stakeholders have the insights needed to make timely, informed decisions.
• Participate in project assessments and ensure project scope and success criteria are clearly outlined.
• Establish clear priorities among project activities and develop and manage project plans to meet deliverables.
• Manage cross-functional project timeline and follow-up with project team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Provide cross-functional forecasting, tracking, reporting and oversight on project budget and expenditures.
• Maintain documentation and provide data management for project deliverables; identify communication plans for knowledge sharing across functional areas and project teams.
• Proactively identify changes in project scope and assure appropriate measures are taken to reassess and amend requirements, budget and timeline.
• Create and deliver program review presentations to senior leadership.
