Job summary

Platt is seeking a Quotations Specialist to join the Sacramento team. You will manage price proposals, review bid requirements, and collaborate with sales to craft competitive RFQs and final proposals.

You will negotiate with suppliers, maintain product knowledge, and build strong relationships with customers and vendors to drive bid success. This role offers growth in a dynamic electrical distribution environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of customer service, project management, or related experience preferred
• Experience with electrical distribution, lighting, and controls, or adjacent industry preferred
• High School or GED - Required

Responsibilities

• Quote low to moderate profile/complex projects.
• Review bid package and requirements (technical, approved manufacturers list, commercial and documentation).
• Work with Outside Sales or branches to discuss strategy for each proposal.
• Format customer requests into a standardized bid spreadsheet.
• Break down bid package and issue RFQs to vendors with deadlines and project details.
• Receive pricing and prepare bid tabulations for review.
• Prepare and submit final proposal with all required documentation.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers and suggest substitutes where appropriate.
• Attend product meetings, seminars, and training to maintain product knowledge.
• Meet with team to discuss vendor strategy and margin levels.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Leverage digital tools to promote or demonstrate products to customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
