Job summary

The Performance Improvement Coordinator at Saint Peter's Healthcare System will serve as a resource to department chairs and managers, analyzing internal and external data to assess impact of regulations and cost-containment on quality.

You will initiate programs to meet mandatory requirements (TJC, Leapfrog) and oversee data abstraction/validation, ensuring timeliness and accuracy while collaborating with Quality Analysts.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to assess and analyze health care data at patient, unit, and organizational levels.
• Must educate health care and physician staff about health care policies and current practices related to data use in evaluation of quality and safety.
• Experience in Performance Improvement and/or Quality/Safety project management preferred.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, State and Federal regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource to Department/Committee Chairmen and Department Managers.
• Analyze information to assess impact of external regulations and cost-containment on quality improvement.
• Initiate/update programs and workgroups to meet mandatory requirements (e.g., TJC) and rating agencies like Leapfrog.
• Oversee the Quality Project abstraction/review for timeliness and accuracy and supervise data validation reports.
• Assist in performance improvement across the organization through process redesign and policy education.
• Contribute to annual reappraisal of the Quality and Safety plan and align with strategic goals and indicators.
