Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Manager of Purchasing to lead the daily buying of goods, services and equipment for uninterrupted patient care across our facilities in New Jersey. You will negotiate with vendors, ensure MMIS data integrity, and partner with Accounts Payable to resolve issues while guiding the procurement budget.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with extensive purchasing leadership experience, strong MMIS and MS Office skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum two years supervisory/leadership experience in purchasing.
• Four years related experience with purchasing, accounts payable and warehouse storeroom with a degree.
• Eight years related experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong MMIS, Excel and Word skills; ability to prepare clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily buying of goods, services and equipment to support patient care.
• Lead the purchasing team to find reliable vendors and negotiate prices.
• Ensure MMIS data is accurate and up-to-date to aid decisions.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues.
• Lead bid processes and use GPO resources for best value.
• Assist departments with contracts and coordinate with Legal for reviews.
• Approve new vendors after completing documentation and background checks.
• Participate in Patient Care and Surgical Value Analysis committees.
