Job summary

Averro is seeking a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager in Fremont, CA to own procurement, supplier management, material planning, and inventory control for our photonic and optical components client.

You will develop supplier strategies, lead negotiations, and implement KPI-driven controls to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency in a fast-growing environment. This onsite role collaborates with Finance and Operations and requires 7+ years in supply chain roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, material planning, and inventory control.
• Direct semiconductor or PLC fabrication experience highly preferred.
• Proven track record negotiating with vendors and building supplier relationships.
• Experience setting and managing KPIs, such as reduced downtime.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategy for reliable suppliers, qualified alternates, and backup plans to prevent downtime.
• Lead purchasing for production materials, components, equipment, indirect supplies, and services; negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, quality standards, and long-term agreements.
• Build supplier scorecards and KPI reporting on delivery, quality, cost, and service; run supplier evaluations and corrective action plans.
• Build material planning and demand forecasting processes aligned to production schedules and customer demand; monitor shortages and resolve before impact.
• Document SOPs for procurement, planning, and inventory; apply Lean and CI methods to reduce waste; support budgeting and forecasting for materials.
