Appsierra Group in the United States (remote) is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent for procurement and supplier evaluation to contribute domain expertise to AI-related projects.

You will design procurement scenarios, evaluate bids, develop sourcing recommendations, and document evaluation criteria for complex purchasing decisions. Candidates should have 4+ years in procurement, strong supplier analysis, and the ability to work remotely with clear written English.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional procurement experience in corporate or public-sector environments.
• Direct experience with supplier analysis, bid evaluation matrices, and contract negotiation.
• Strong ability to analyze non-standardized vendor submissions and develop detailed comparison matrices.
• Practical understanding of supplier evaluation methodologies and procurement best practices.
• Experience with complex procurement requirements and commercial documentation.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to justify sourcing recommendations.
• Excellent written English and the ability to produce clear, structured procurement documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design expert-level procurement tasks based on real-world purchasing complexity, including RFP development, bid evaluation, supplier scoring, and contract negotiation scenarios.
• Create and format realistic procurement materials such as supplier quotations, specifications, pricing tables, and technical documentation.
• Work with procurement information presented in inconsistent formats and identify the details required for accurate supplier comparisons.
• Develop defensible sourcing recommendations supported by clear commercial and procurement reasoning.
• Build detailed grading rubrics for evaluating AI performance in areas such as vendor comparison, bid analysis, supplier evaluation, and contract reasoning.
• Create scenarios that reflect procurement challenges across specialized categories, including IT, industrial products and services, and professional services.
• Clearly document procurement requirements, decision criteria, evaluation standards, and the rationale behind recommended actions.
• Communicate complex procurement concepts and decision-making processes clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Collaborate with project teams to review, refine, and validate procurement tasks and evaluation rubrics for accuracy and relevance.
