The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is hiring a Purchasing Supervisor to lead the sourcing function and optimize inventory while controlling costs. You will mentor the team, craft supplier strategies, and coordinate with Production, QA, and Finance to ensure timely material availability.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in a related field and 5+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, with APICS or CSCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
• Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, and familiarity with Logility Supply Chain Planning.

Responsabilités

• Direct, coach, and mentor the Purchasing team, overseeing daily tasks, performance reviews, and staffing while upholding Dixon's values.
• Develop purchasing strategies, optimize inventory, mitigate single-source risks with dual-sourcing/contingency plans.
• Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and pricing for best value.
• Collaborate with Production, Operations, AP/Payable, and QA to ensure material availability and issue resolution.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Track core metrics like PPV, OTIF, lead times, and inventory turnover.
