Job summary

Unisource is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our industrial purchasing department in Portland. You will procure materials efficiently, manage supplier relationships, and time purchases to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

This full-time, in-office role operates Monday–Friday with profit-sharing bonuses and comprehensive benefits. You will analyze market trends, lead times, and sales data to optimize inventory turns and ensure timely delivery while maintaining price

Qualifications

• Experience in a purchasing environment and at least one year in procurement.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials efficiently and on time using established ERP processes.
• Develop processes to attain required inventory turns per year.
• Analyze supplier pricing, lead times, and sales activity to time purchases.
• Track supplier purchases for on-time delivery, price control, and quality.
• Collaborate with product lines to reduce excess and obsolete materials.
• Issue purchase orders and manage each PO stage through receiving.
• Report price increases and develop primary/secondary suppliers.
• Support transitions of new products from development to production.
