Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply, part of the Sonepar USA family, seeks a Purchasing Agent for its RDC/Branch in Texas. The role focuses on maintaining inventory levels, processing vendor purchase orders, and ensuring accurate data across pricing and descriptions.

You will collaborate with sales and product teams to optimize procurement and service levels. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, self-motivated, and proficient with Excel and purchasing concepts.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented with excellent communication and time management skills
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Intermediate PC skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Purchasing knowledge including basic procurement concepts (order points, line points, demand, safety stock)

Responsibilities

• Follow branch procedures to maintain minimum inventory levels and avoid shortages
• Review inventory levels and create vendor purchase orders for stock and non-stock items
• Maintain purchasing parameters to provide proper service levels
• Work with product team to ensure accurate pricing, descriptions, and vendor information
• Expedite and track all outstanding orders
• Make recommendations for major purchases based on pricing and availability
• Establish professional vendor and branch relationships
• Collaborate with sales to resolve vendor procurement issues
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Other duties as needed
