Job summary

PolyPeptide US in Torrance, CA seeks a Purchasing / Materials Manager to lead purchasing, material planning, inventory coordination and supplier performance across Torrance and San Diego sites.

You will translate production demand into purchasing and material plans, manage supply risks, improve supplier performance, optimize inventory, and maintain ERP data accuracy while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Supply Chain, Operations or Engineering.
• 5+ years in purchasing, procurement or material planning.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing (pharma/biotech) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing from requisition to delivery and issue resolution.
• Manage material planning for production and development projects.
• Review forecasts, inventory, safety stock, open orders and schedules.
• Lead MRP reviews and mitigate shortages and supply risks.
• Develop recovery plans with substitutions, alternate suppliers or revised priorities.
• Monitor supplier delivery, quality, lead times and OTIF performance.
