Job summary

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Manager based at the New Johnsonville Paper Mill in Tennessee. You will manage mill contracts, maintain supplier relationships, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives across the site.

Responsibilities include preparing PO's, soliciting bids, evaluating suppliers, and formulating procurement policies. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires manufacturing purchasing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
• Three or more years of experience in supply chain or procurement in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel using formulas, functions, and Pivot Tables; Outlook for email & calendar management; Word to view & edit documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepares purchase orders, solicits bid proposals, and reviews requisitions for goods and services across the company, as well as, provide local plant support.
• Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
• Formulates policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.
• Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.
• Assist in identifying and executing on cost savings opportunities within the supply chain.
