Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the purchasing team with clear priorities and performance expectations.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to align with production schedules.
• Source, evaluate and manage supplier base based on quality, cost, delivery and reliability.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and long-term supplier agreements.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchases to minimize shortages and excess stock.
• Collaborate with Planning and Operations to support manufacturing schedules.
• Analyze material requirements and forecasting data for purchasing decisions.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure purchased materials meet quality and engineering specs.
• Identify cost reductions and continuous improvement opportunities in procurement.
• Manage ERP/MRP purchasing activities, POs, and vendor records.
• Support new product introductions by coordinating supplier readiness.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and quality standards.
