Job summary

Electroswitch seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer in Weymouth to improve manufacturing and assembly processes, develop tooling and fixtures, and drive process-improvement projects at our Weymouth facility.

This hands-on role collaborates with production to enhance workflow, increase throughput, reduce labor and cycle times, resolve production issues, and support safe and cost-effective manufacture of our products. Strong Lean Six Sigma experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Ability to independently design, develop, and troubleshoot tooling and fixtures.
• Lead process-improvement projects from analysis through implementation.
• Create, revise, and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Support cost estimates, tooling estimates, and equipment procurement.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing and assembly processes to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with production to improve workflow, throughput, safety, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Lead manufacturing and process-improvement projects from analysis to implementation and follow-up.
• Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma to reduce waste and improve process capability.
• Conduct time studies and workflow analyses; perform line-balancing evaluations.

• Create and maintain manufacturing procedures and work instructions.

Position Summary

Electroswitch is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to improve manufacturing and assembly processes, develop tooling and fixtures, and lead process-improvement projects at our Weymouth facility.

This is a hands‑on engineering position that works closely with production to improve workflow, increase throughput, reduce labor and processing time, resolve production issues, and support the safe and cost-effective manufacture of our products.

The successful candidate must have Lean Six Sigma experience and the ability to independently design, develop, and troubleshoot manufacturing tooling and fixtures. This position will also lead projects, develop procedures and standard operating procedures, and support continuous‑improvement initiatives throughout the operation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing and assembly processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, quality concerns, and improvement opportunities.
• Partner closely with production employees and leadership to improve workflow, throughput, safety, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Lead manufacturing and process‑improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation and follow‑up.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, workholding devices, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to reduce waste, improve process capability, and support continuous improvement.
• Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, line‑balancing activities, and equipment or floor‑layout evaluations.
• Develop and implement new manufacturing methods, processes, tools, and technologies.
• Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing procedures, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and related documentation.
• Support production personnel in the day‑to‑day execution of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and testing activities.
• Investigate production problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective or preventive actions.
• Support PFMEA, process‑capability reviews, SPC activities, continuous‑improvement studies, and design‑of‑experiment activities as needed.
• Participate in Kaizen events and the implementation of 5S, visual manufacturing, flow‑line, and other Lean practices.
• Support new‑product development and provide design‑for‑manufacturability recommendations.
• Assist with manufacturing cost estimates, tooling estimates, capital requests, and equipment procurement.
• Help ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment comply with applicable quality and safety requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
