Job summary

Lawrence Equipment in California is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimize procurement of industrial components including motors, drives, and metals.

You will partner with engineering and production to balance cost, quality, and delivery, manage supplier relationships, and ensure accurate purchasing records.

The role requires strong negotiation, data analysis, and experience with MRP systems in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing context.
• Strong knowledge of logistics, production planning, and supply chain management principles.
• Familiarity with materials management processes and best practices.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
• Experience working with MRP systems.
• Experience with purchasing raw metals, electronics, and consumables.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials .
• Coordinate with engineering and production planning teams to optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
• Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely manner
