Job summary

Teledyne Reynolds, a Teledyne Technologies business unit, seeks a proactive Purchasing Manager to lead procurement in a defense electronics manufacturing environment. You will source materials, manage supplier performance, and ensure quality, cost control and on-time delivery to support production and customer commitments.

You will develop supplier relationships, negotiate prices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with ITAR, DFARS and AS9100 flow-downs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity, preferably within electronics or defense manufacturing.
• Proven experience supporting high-mix, low-volume production environments.
• Strong understanding of purchasing best practices, supplier negotiations, and defense industry compliance requirements.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in creating spreadsheets, analyzing data, and presenting information using Excel.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure timely acquisition of materials, components, and services in support of production schedules and customer commitments.
• Identify, qualify, and manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring for quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Lead price negotiations, manage cost reduction initiatives, and support margin improvement while maintaining quality and compliance requirements.
• Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement in purchasing and supply chain processes, including lead time reduction, supplier consolidation, and improved demand planning.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with applicable defense industry regulations and standards, including ITAR, DFARS, AS9100 flow-downs, and customer-specific requirements.
• Inventory & Planning Support: Partner with planning and operations teams to balance material availability, inventory levels, and production variability in a high-mix environment.
• Performance Metrics: Track, analyze, and report purchasing KPIs such as supplier on-time delivery, cost variance, lead time, inventory turns, and material availability, providing regular updates to site leadership.
