Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or CPM preferred, or commensurate experience.
• SAP knowledge.
• Strong leadership and management, negotiation, decision making and problem resolution.
• At least 5 years purchasing management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Reading and understanding mechanical drawings/prints.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Highly organized and time conscious.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
• TOEFL may be required for ESL/visa holders.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of Buyers and Shipping & Receiving personnel; oversee training and performance reviews.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders; negotiate prices, delivery, and credit terms.
• Evaluate suppliers and monitor vendor performance; maintain supplier relationships.
• Manage inventory, stock parts, and annual counts per policy.
• Hold regular meetings to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Coordinate with customer service, project management, hydroform and accounting groups.
• Oversee import/export processes and ensure proper records.
• Prepare monthly reports detailing purchasing performance for executives.
