Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is partnering with a well‑established manufacturing company in Ohio to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This role focuses on balancing cost, quality, and efficiency while maintaining optimal inventory to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include overseeing all purchasing activities, supplier management, import/export compliance, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost analysis skills.
• Experience with inventory control, sourcing strategies, and procurement software systems.
• Working knowledge of international shipping, customs processes, harmonized tariff codes, and trade compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with ISO quality management systems and supplier qualification processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic thinker who balances operational needs, cost objectives, and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage all purchasing activities to ensure materials and supplies are available to support production and operational requirements.
• Create, process, and monitor purchase orders from initial quote through receipt and completion.
• Evaluate pricing, lead times, and supplier performance to optimize purchasing decisions.
• Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder stocked and non-stocked materials based on established minimum quantities.
• Oversee procurement of critical raw materials and proactively manage supply chain risks related to availability and lead times.
• Coordinate shipping and transportation activities, including domestic and international logistics.
• Manage import/export compliance, including harmonized tariff classifications, customs documentation, and trade regulations.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and ensure compliance with ISO quality management requirements.
• Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and purchasing data to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review and administer supplier contracts while ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and company procurement standards.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to verify incoming shipments, resolve discrepancies, and inspect materials for quality concerns.
• Track and document non-conforming incoming materials and assist with corrective action processes.
• Support ISO compliance efforts, audits, and internal quality initiatives.
• Provide backup support for internal auditing activities and assist during external and internal ISO audits.
