Job summary

Signode is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead a team of six planners, overseeing purchasing execution and inventory health across multiple plants. You will align supplier performance with corporate goals, drive backorder reduction, and develop talent within the team.

Responsibilities include setting performance expectations, managing 1:1s, conducting reviews, and steering strategic sourcing to meet capacity and demand while maintaining service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years in purchasing/inventory planning or supply chain.
• 7+ years of people management experience, preferably managing planners/buyers.
• Strong background in manufacturing, equipment, or industrial supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and develop six Purchasing Planners.
• Own inventory planning and purchasing execution for multiple plants.
• Align sourcing strategies with capacity, demand, and supplier constraints.
• Lead supplier engagement and risk mitigation planning.
• Drive continuous improvement with suppliers for reliability and cost.
• Coordinate with Category Manager on sourcing strategies and KPIs.
• Oversee monthly SIOP input highlighting risks and mitigations.
