Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented purchasing/procurement professional in Illinois to manage inventory and pricing using Epicor Prophet 21. You will analyze reports, coordinate with suppliers, and support sales with timely order updates.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, Excel proficiency, and the ability to learn new processes in a high-volume environment within distribution or manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing or procurement experience preferred.
• Accurate data entry skills.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.
• Experience with high-volume environments in distribution or manufacturing.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain system costs and inventory levels using Epicor Prophet 21 (P21).
• Investigate and resolve warehouse and invoicing discrepancies.
• Work closely with accounting to resolve issues.
• Update system pricing based on vendor price sheets.
• Review and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly purchasing reports.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, delays, and product availability.
• Obtain quotes from vendors and suppliers.
• Provide timely updates to the Sales team regarding supplier communications and customer order status.
• Perform system cleanup and maintenance of part numbers, supplier records, and related purchasing data.
• Support purchasing operations to ensure product availability and data integrity.
